Dr. Kayla came to Lakeland from South Carolina when she was a child. She’s pretty much a natural Floridian at this point in her life! Dr. Kayla dreamed of being a veterinarian as a little girl. Her dreams became an ambition, especially when she experienced the profound loss of her Pomeranian, Wolfie.

Dr. Kayla has literally been in every position at My Pet’s Animal Hospital. Back in 2013 she became a client to have her pet rat seen. In January 2016, she was hired as an Animal Caregiver. She quickly became cross-trained in reception, treatment, and appointments, all while obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Biology before heading off to vet school. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Dr. Kayla loves being able to practice preventative medicine and teach clients what they can do to help their pets live long, happy lives. She has special interests in ophthalmology and dentistry and has a soft spot for German Shepherds. She’s humble, realistic, and more than willing to help clients navigate their pets’ hard times with the utmost respect and compassion. Dr. Kayla’s happy-go-lucky personality is sure to make you feel right at home and able to ask her questions about your pets without judgment or pressure.

In her spare time, she enjoys diamond painting, playing video games, and simply enjoying rest and relaxation. She has three cats, a cockatiel, a jumping spider, and a ten-gallon aquarium. We hope you love Dr. Kayla as much as we do!
